Introduction of Sahara Club

The place, which is full of natural beauties, where there is a setae river, lakes, waterfalls. Caves and many famous temple like Bindubasini, Stupa of Lord Buddha (Shanti Stupa) where we feel inner pleasant. That is only the place named Pokhara. At the 1998. It is one of the best institutes in social sector, which has done various social and developmental works to uplift the city. Social works like blood donation, educational programme, public health center etc.

Here we are going to introduce Sahara club in different ways. The social works that Sahara has done are:

+ Orphan and helpless Academy
+ Football
+ Educational program
+ Public health center
+ Public toilet
+ Cultural program
+ City cleaning program
+ Women’s development program

Social Works done by Sahara Club

Blood Donation
This club have successfully organized blood donation programme in past and is going to give continuity in future. This occasionally held in birthday. His Majesty King Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev.

Orphan and helpless academy
From this year Sahara club is going to start an academy named Orphan and helpless Academy. In here .We protect the orphans and helpless children .Especially the aim of this academy is to produce the capable football player in Pokhara .So, this club has made a separate building for those children.

Football
Annually, we organize football tournament at Pokhara stadium, which includes international level games. This year it is going to held in between 9Jan-22Jan.2004. After the establishment of this club it has successfully completed three games, these are:

*Caravan gold cup2001
*Aaha gold cup 1st 2002
*Aaha gold cup 2nd 2003

Educational programme
In such sector, we separate annually Rs.50, 000. This year we provide Rs.50, 000 to one primary school, which lies, beside our club named Sahara child primary school. Beside this, this club has done high school level essay competition that was held in the great festival of Nepali (Vijay Dashami).

Public Toilet
At the mouth place of Pokhara Bus Park this club has made a public toilet to keep city clean. The money collected from this toilet has become the source to run administration of this club Sahara.

Public Health center
In past, it started with one public health center, but unfortunately the program cannot get continuously. The reason lack of laboratory equipment and financial commitment but still hoping to continue same program in future.

Cultural programs
Every year we organize cultural program on the occasion of deepawali (tihar). By performing cultural program this club has hoped to collect some fund for orphan and helpless children.

City cleaning programs
All we are known about the management of dust and dirt managed by the Pokhara sub-metropolitan city. Even people are ignorant and careless about the problem

Women's Development Programme
Women are very backward in every sector. They have to face many problems in managing household and children .To uplifts the miserable condition of women, we organized a beautician training. The main objective of this training was to make women self dependent and they need not to stay inside the four walls of a house and can freely live their life.

Economy sources
Especially, the vehicles which enter and packing at bus park, we request and collect some fund to help such a social club. Besides this National Sport Council of Nepal. All Nepal football Association and other businessman also help to us.

Miscellaneous programs
This includes stick distribution to blind people and clothes to helpless and lamb children inside Pokhara city.
